OVERVIEW:
Anthropoid group wasn’t the only one that was sent from Britain, as a matter of fact when they were flown to Czech Protectorate, the plane had 2 more elite groups of paratroopers on board. The other two were called Silver A and Silver B. Their flight was at high risk and got scheduled for the night from the 28th – 29thDecember 1941. Silver A group was on a mission to re-established the connection between Czechoslovak government in London and local Czech resistance. Silver A group consisted of 3 members: Alfréd Bartoš, Josef Valčík and Jiří Potůček and were dropped off at Pardubice region (about an hour from Prague). They successfully brought in a radio station and re-connected with the government in exile in London.
Little village near Pardubice town, called Ležáky was selected as a base for the broadcast station. Josef Valčík made it to Prague and connected with Anthropoid group and was one of the 7 brave paratroopers in the church where the last battle took place. Alfréd Bartoš was working from Pardubice where he was later found and instead of surrendering to Nazies committed suicide. On the 24th of June 1942 was discovered the broadcasting station at Ležáky, which ended up burned out and people got murdered just like in Lidice. The last one from Silver A group – Jiří Potůček was also forced to commit suicide because there wasn’t anyone who would be willing to help him! This trip will take you through Pardubice town, its Old Town and hidden parts, aswell as to Ležáky memorial and its museum.

“I went with a group of friends, one of whom has previously been to Prague and had enthusiastically spoke about what a great guide Martina is, and he's absolutely right. Martina's an enthusiastic, engaging, and knowledgeable guide who's very passionate about the history of Prague and Operation Anthropoid. You'll have fun while learning a lot about an incredible moment in Word War II/Prague history. Highly recommended, and already thinking about our next visit to Prague where we will no doubt book another tour with Martina's company.”

“Again. Martina delivered a great tour. We opted for the Operation Anthropoid. I’d recommend watching the film if you decide to go. Anyway it was great way to spend several hours in Prague and learn about this incredible piece of history. I honestly had no idea of the incredible bravery that each and every one of these men carried out. Truly humbling. Martina was extremely knowledgeable on the history and I would not hesitate to recommend her service.
Thank you so much. We enjoyed the drink afterwards and look forward to seeing you in the future.”
